AN ACT TO MODIFY THE DUTIES OF THE NORTHEASTERN WORKFORCE 2
DEVELOPMENT BOARD . 3
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts: 4
SECTION 1. This act applies to the Northeastern Workforce Development Board 5
serving Dare, Currituck, Camden, Pasquotank, Perquimans, Chowan, Gates, Hyde, Tyrrell, and 6
Washington Counties only. 7
SECTION 2. G.S. 143B-438.11 reads as rewritten: 8
"§ 143B-438.11. Local Workforce Development Boards. 9
(a) Duties. – Local Workforce Development Boards shall have the following powers and 10
duties: 11

(7a) To designate through a competitive selection process, designate, by no later 13
than July 1, 2014, and annually thereafter, the providers of adult and 14
dislocated worker services authorized in the Workforce Innovation and 15
Opportunity Act. 16
