The following constitutes the reasons for this bill and the purposes which are sought to be
accomplished thereby:
LB14 creates a refundable income tax credit for any individual who rents a house, apartment,
or other residential unit in this state as that individuals primary residence. The credit shall be
equal to five percent of the total amount of rent paid by the individual during the taxable year.
