LB 18 changes provisions related to proposals submitted by the legislature for a vote by the electorate of the entire state. Current
statute requires such submissions occur at leas t four months prior to the general election. LB 18 allows for submissions from a special
session to be submitted at least sixty days prior to the general election.
At this time the Secretary of State has not had sufficient time to estimate a fiscal impac t. Through informal communication, the
Secretary of State’s office believes the impact will be minimal.
