LB12 changes Nebraska Revised Statute §25-228, which deals with civil procedures. Specifically, the bill updates the statute of
limitations for civil lawsuits related to child sexual assault. The bill aims to extend or clearly define the period when victims can file civil
suits against individuals directly responsible for the assault or other entities that might also be accountable.

The Supreme Court states that there would be minimal fiscal impact related to providing judicial education, and any potential effect on
judicial workload cannot be reasonably determined at this time. No additional resources would be required.
