Explanation of amendments: The Committee considered and adopted an amendment which accomplishes the following: Directs the Nebraska State Patrol to carry out protection protocols to prevent the fraudulent use of digital images, create and update security measures for the access and storage of such images, and to remove an image from the Nebraska State Patrol Missing Persons Clearinghouse website within three business days after they are notified that the missing individual has been located. ------------------------------------ Committee Statement: LB120 Transportation and Telecommunications Committee Page 1 408a6f90aa30d6a33c399841db0ce5ad Summary of Sections Section 1 – Amends section 60-484.02 – Digital images The DMV may release the digital images from operator’s licenses to the Nebraska State Patrol for use on the Nebraska State Patrol Missing Persons Clearinghouse website if that individual has been deemed missing and cannot be located. Directs the Nebraska State Patrol to take steps to prevent fraudulent use of or improper access to such images. Section 2 - Original section 60-484.02 is repealed.
