One Hundred Ninth Legislature - First Session - 2025 Introducer€s Statement of Intent LB138 € Chairperson: Senator Brian Hardin Committee: Health and Human Services Date of Hearing: January 29, 2025 € The following constitutes the reasons for this bill and the purposes which are sought to be accomplished thereby: LB 138 would establish a tiered fee-for-service pharmacy dispensing fee reimbursement for pharmacies participating in the medical assistance program, effective for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2026. The proposed reimbursement rates are as follows: $10.38 per prescription for independent pharmacies and those dispensing fewer than 30,000 prescriptions per year. $9.51 per prescription for pharmacies dispensing between 30,000 and 70,000 prescriptions per year. $8.30 per prescription for pharmacies dispensing 70,000 or more prescriptions per year. Additionally, any pharmacy operating as the sole registered pharmacy within a 30-mile radius will qualify for a dispensing fee rate of $10.38 per prescription, regardless of its annual prescription volume.
