The following constitutes the reasons for this bill and the purposes which are sought to be
accomplished thereby:
LB141 requires reporting of child abuse or neglect to the proper military authorities and
family advocacy programs if a military family is involved. The Department of Health and
Human Services will negotiate a memorandum of understanding with any military family
advocacy program at a military installation in Nebraska to establish procedures and protocols
for reporting.
