Explanation of Estimate:
LB154 proposes to modify the existing Hearing Instrument Specialists Practice Act by expanding the scope of
practice for a licensed Hearing Instrument Specialist. This may result in additional cost to facilitate database
changes that the licensure database vendor will need to make. The additional costs may be covered by the
monthly subscription fees paid to the vendor to maintain the system, or there could be additional programming
costs, depending on the extent of the changes that are needed.
