Summary of purpose and/or changes:
LB 160 changes the requirements for applicants that have failed the barber examination.
Sec. 1: An applicant who fails to pass the barber examination may take the examination a second time when offered
by the Barber board without being required to take any further course of study. If an applicant fails the examination a
second time, the applicant shall be required to complete a further course of study in barbering, consisting of 500
hours with not more than 10 hours completed in any one working day in a school or barbering. An applicant may
have an opportunity to test out of the course of study after completion of 250 hours with approval from the board. If
such applicant fails to test out of the examination after completion of 250 hours, the applicant shall complete the
remaining 250 hours before such applicant shall be permitted to take the examination a third time.
