The following constitutes the reasons for this bill and the purposes which are sought to be
accomplished thereby:
LB183 is an update bill for the Unclaimed Property Division of the State Treasurers Office.
The bill would modernize the public notice requirements that the Unclaimed Property
Division must follow when publishing the annual unclaimed property report in Nebraska
newspapers.
The bill would also provide that unclaimed property records are not available for public
inspection or reproduction by commercial locators.
