The following constitutes the reasons for this bill and the purposes which are sought to be
accomplished thereby:
LB 197 allows the Nebraska Department of Labor to adjudicate claims for unemployment
insurance benefits through other means than by a claim adjudicator. LB 197 also allows
the Nebraska Department of Labor to reconsider a determination of benefits if an audit
conducted as part of the benefit accuracy measurement program finds an error in the original
determination of benefits. €
