The following constitutes the reasons for this bill and the purposes which are sought to be
accomplished thereby:
LB266 would prohibit cities, villages, counties and any agencies or subdivisions
therein from enacting local laws and ordinances that would impose rent controls
on private property. Affordable housing projects and voluntary participation
programs are exempted from this bill.
