The following constitutes the reasons for this bill and the purposes which are sought to be
accomplished thereby:
LB 299 provides that eligible aliens‚ who have been hired within the State of Nebraska by
both public or private employers shall have access to all the same employment benefits that
any other similarly situated employee would be provided. €Under LB 299, an "eligible alien"
is any alien who has been granted work authorization by the United States.
