The following constitutes the reasons for this bill and the purposes which are sought to be
accomplished thereby:

Legislative Bill 312 would add "nurse anesthetist" as an eligible provider to the Rural Health
Systems and Professional Incentive Act. To receive an incentive, a nurse anesthetist must
work in a designated health profession shortage area for 3 years. The current maximum
allowable incentive is $15,000 per year for 3 years.
