This bill adds nurse anesthetists to the professions that qualify for the Rural Health Systems and Professional Incentive Act which
requires partic ipants to practice in a designated health profession shortage area in Nebraska. Newly eligible nurse anesthetists can
receive repayment for qualified educational debts up to $15,000 per year per recipient. This bill would not necessarily increase the
funding for the progr am though an ac companying appropriations bill could do so . Without additional funding, the administering agency,
the Department of Health and Human Services, may decrease per capita repayments or utilize a waitlist.
