The following constitutes the reasons for this bill and the purposes which are sought to be
accomplished thereby:
LB 318 would require the Department of Health and Human Services to seek a waiver to
extend Medicaid and Childrens Health Insurance Program coverage for services to eligible
young people when incarcerated pending adjudication.
