This bill directs the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) to provide coverage in the Medical Assistance Program,
Medicaid, for psychology services provided by qualifying advanced level practitioners supervised by a licensed psychologist. DHHS
indicates there is no fiscal impact because Medicaid currently covers such services. Doctoral interns, provisional licensed mental health
professionals with Master’s degrees, provisionally licensed PhDs, and specially licensed PhDs all have specific provider types w ithin
Medicaid and provide services within their respective scope of practices.
