The following constitutes the reasons for this bill and the purposes which are sought to be
accomplished thereby:
In the Line of Duty Dependent Education Benefit was established for children of law
enforcement officers and firefighters killed in the line of duty.€ LB 335 changes the criteria
for this benefit to include stepchildren of the law enforcement officer or firefighter killed in
the line of duty.
