The following constitutes the reasons for this bill and the purposes which are sought to be
accomplished thereby:
LB36 provides notice to controlling entities of wellhead protection areas of any proposed
land-use, zoning regulation, or building permit requested within wellhead protection areas.
LB36 further provides that any county, city, or village with zoning, land-use planning or
permit authority takes into consideration the public water supply when making proposed land
use, zoning or building permit determinations within wellhead protection areas.
