The following constitutes the reasons for this bill and the purposes which are sought to be
accomplished thereby:
LB 1174 removes the requirement for section lines to be public roads.
County boards may by resolution propose to vacate or abandon public roads that are section
lines. The resolution shall have a public hearing, be published in the newspaper and whenever
possible, be sent by mail to owners of the land abutting on or adjacent to the road.
