The following constitutes the reasons for this bill and the purposes which are sought to be
accomplished thereby:
Beginning July 1, 2025, the department shall automatically provide a retention grant to
eligible teachers.
The Nebraska Department of Education will administer these grants to the school district that
employs the teacher.
Employment length and grant amount:
First through sixth year, Two thousand five hundred dollars.€
Seventh through fifteenth year, three thousand dollars.
Sixteenth year and beyond, four thousand dollars.
A high needs retention grant, five thousand dollars.
