The following constitutes the reasons for this bill and the purposes which are sought to be
accomplished thereby:
LB42 proposes allowing individuals employed in intellectual and developmental disabilities
facilities to maintain their nurse aide registration in accordance with Nebraska Rev. Stat. §
71-6039, which stipulates that only specific employer settings can be utilized to keep nurse
aide registration active. Individuals can achieve this by working a paid 8-hour shift every 2
years at certain facilities as prescribed in statute, with the facility reporting the employment.€
LB42 also adds a definition of service provider.€
