The following constitutes the reasons for this bill and the purposes which are sought to be
accomplished thereby:
LB 461 amends the Cities of the First Class Firefighters Retirement Act to allow retired
firefighters to receive annuity payments on a yearly, monthly, or quarterly basis. Current
statute only allows for a single lump sum payment.
