The following constitutes the reasons for this bill and the purposes which are sought to be
accomplished thereby:
LB 507 would clarify that when a child with a disability is enrolled in a school districts
special education program, and the school district has an obligation to provide transportation
to that child either due to state law or the child‚s Individual Education Plan (IEP), that
transportation is to be provided by the school district regardless of whether the child resides
within the district. €
