Summary of purpose and/or changes:
LB 534 appropriates funds from the General Fund, relevant agencies' Cash Funds, the State Insurance Fund, and the
Workers’ Compensation Revolving Fund to pay for claims against the state of Nebraska and its agencies.
The Attorney General has reached two state settlements totaling $482,700.28 to be paid out of the General Fund.

paid out of the General Fund.
The Attorney General has settled three Worker’s Compensation Court claims totaling $665,000.00 to be paid out of
the Workers’ Compensation Revolving Fund.
The State Claims Board and the Attorney General have offered six tort claims totaling $1,396,627.29 out of the State
Insurance Fund.
The Director of Administrative Services has offered no claims at this time.
A variety of state agencies are seeking to write off certain accounts that have been approved by the State Claims
Board, totaling $1,767,570.24.
 
 
Explanation of amendments:
AM 1243 adds additional requests for the appropriation of funds from the General Fund, relevant agencies' Cash
Funds, the State Insurance Fund, and the Workers’ Compensation Revolving Fund to pay for additional claims
against the state of Nebraska and its agencies.
The Attorney General has now settled two Line of Duty claims for $530,932.50 and an additional miscellaneous claim
for $182,058.97, for a total of $1,195.692.75 out of the General Fund.
The State Claims Board and the Attorney General now offer an additional indemnification claim in the amount of
$395,000, for a total of $827,500.00 from the General Fund.
The Attorney General have now settled six additional Worker’s Compensation Court claims totaling $595,000, for a
total of $1,260,000 from the Workers’ Compensation Revolving Fund.
The State Claims Board and the Attorney General now offer an additional tort claim for a total of $49,826.83, for a
total of $1,446,454.12 out of the State Insurance Fund.
The Director of Administrative Services continues to offer no claims.
A variety of state agencies are seeking to write off certain accounts that have been approved by the State Claims
Board, totaling $1,767,570.24 and have not offered any new accounts.
