The following constitutes the reasons for this bill and the purposes which are sought to be
accomplished thereby:
LB 544 requires recipients of Unemployment Benefits to (1) respond to an offer of
employment within two business days, and (2) notify a prospective employer if they need
to cancel or reschedule an interview in order to remain eligible for benefits that week. €
