The following constitutes the reasons for this bill and the purposes which are sought to be
accomplished thereby:
LB 548 would allow government-owned natural gas systems to utilize provisions of the IRS
code to provide natural gas price discounts to large industrial customers not currently served
by another public or investor-owned utility
