€ One Hundred Ninth Legislature - First Session - 2025 Introducer€s Statement of Intent LB554 € Chairperson: Senator Brian Hardin Committee: Health and Human Services Date of Hearing: February 20, 2025 € The following constitutes the reasons for this bill and the purposes which are sought to be accomplished thereby: LB554 replaces the current Credentialing Review Program, known as the "407 process," with the Nebraska Health Professions Commission to evaluate credentialing applications and scope-of-practice changes. The commission will be co-chaired by representatives from Nebraskas institutions of higher learning and will base its evaluations on workforce data, public health considerations, and stakeholder input. It will conduct public hearings, analyze workforce trends, and submit annual recommendations to the Legislature.
