Current law provides for this process that allows jewelers, silversmiths, and watch and clock repairers to impose a lien on unclaimed property on which work was performed but for which no payment has been made after one year. Under existing law, the property would subsequently be sold, with any sum in excess of the amount owed remitted to the county for eventual return to the original owner.
