The following constitutes the reasons for this bill and the purposes which are sought to be
accomplished thereby:
LB595 establishes the Research Excellence Cash Fund. The purpose of the fund is to support
research-based investments in data, data collection, and ongoing research. This includes, but
is not limited to, the Mesonet System.
