The fund is to consist of money from gifts, grants, o r bequests designated for t he fund and transfers authorized by the Legislature. The fund would be used to support research-based investments in data, data collection, and ongoing research critical to the Nebraska economy, including, but not limited to, the Nebraska Mesonet system. The Nebraska Mesonet is a statewide network of automated weather monitoring stations that measures variables such as air temp erature, humidity, precipitation, wind speed, and the like.
