The following constitutes the reasons for this bill and the purposes which are sought to be
accomplished thereby:
LB 60 makes a simple change to the language in the State Lottery Act to authorize lottery
vending
machines; in section 9-829.
€
Of the forty-five states with lotteries, Nebraska is one of two that does not offer vending.
€
The change will help retailers who are dealing with staffing issues and working to respond to
customers demand for increasingly convenient means of transacting business. In addition, the
change will help secure lottery beneficiary proceeds over time.
