The following constitutes the reasons for this bill and the purposes which are sought to be
accomplished thereby:
The purpose of LB628 is to incentivize the development and maintenance of recreational
trails across Nebraska by creating a property tax exemption for recreational trail easements.
This legislation will provide clarity and support for private landowners and public entities
who partner in these efforts, facilitating greater access to recreational opportunities for
Nebraskans while fostering economic and community development.
