The following constitutes the reasons for this bill and the purposes which are sought to be
accomplished thereby:
LB631 proposes an additional $4 million allocation for the 2025-26 fiscal year to fully fund
the School Emergency Response Mapping Fund. This one-time appropriation will facilitate
the development of accurate and comprehensive maps of K-12 schools across Nebraska,
ensuring first responders have seamless access to critical information that integrates with
their existing systems. These maps play a crucial role in enhancing emergency response by
improving situational awareness and reducing response times.
