The following constitutes the reasons for this bill and the purposes which are sought to be
accomplished thereby:
LB 634 forms the Sunset Review Committee in order to establish a process that reviews
entities created by the legislature. Boards, councils, committees, task forces, commissions,
funds and programs will prepare a comprehensive report every five years and submit it to the
Sunset Review Committee. After evaluating the benefits and burdens of the entity, the Sunset
Review Committee will make recommendations to the legislature with suggested changes and
a proposal for either the continuation or termination of the entity.€
