The following constitutes the reasons for this bill and the purposes which are sought to be
accomplished thereby:
LB684 transfers the administration of juvenile probation services to a new Juvenile Probation
Agency within the executive branch. LB684 also establishes that regarding felony arrests of a
juvenile, a probation officer shall forward intake information to a judge to determine the need
for detention.
