The following constitutes the reasons for this bill and the purposes which are sought to be
accomplished thereby:

Legislative Bill 698 amends the Nebraska Healthy Families and Workplace Act to remove
temporary or seasonal agricultural workers and youth under 16 years of age from the
definition of employee, to exempt employers with 10 or fewer employees from the Act,
and to provide the Department of Labor as the sole enforcer of the Act, rather than through
private actions.
