LB97 proposes: definition and language changes, to exempt CDL holders from deferred judgements, protects sensitive
personal information from being release d to the public, allows for the relea se of a bonded title lien with notification, and
provides for the ability to accept another state’s order for issuance of an Ignition Interlock Permit. This bill contains an
emergency clause.
Revenues:
The Department of Motor Vehicles is anticipating LB97 would likely generate $1,000 in cash fund revenue in FY2025-26 and
$1,000 in cash funds in FY2026 -27.
The Nebraska State Patrol, Nebraska Board of Parole, Nebraska Motor Vehicle Industry Licensing Board, Lancaster County
Treasurer, Douglas County Treasur er have all indicated no fiscal impact.
There is no basis to disagree with the estimations.
