Summary of purpose and/or changes:
LR 19CA would propose an amendment to Article III, Section 12 of the Nebraska State
Constitution to change the limit on legislative terms from two consecutive terms to three

The proposed amendment would be submitted to the voters at the general election in November 2026.
 
 
Explanation of amendments:
AM884 causes this constitutional amendment to be placed on the 2026 Primary ballot to be held on May 12, 2026.
In accordance with Neb Rev Stat ยง49-235 a special state election may be called by the 
vote of four-fifths (40) of the members elected to the Legislature for the purpose of submitting proposed amendments
to the Constitution.
