The proposed amendment would be submitted to the voters at the general election in November 2026. Explanation of amendments: AM884 causes this constitutional amendment to be placed on the 2026 Primary ballot to be held on May 12, 2026. In accordance with Neb Rev Stat ยง49-235 a special state election may be called by the vote of four-fifths (40) of the members elected to the Legislature for the purpose of submitting proposed amendments to the Constitution.
