CURRENT VERSION OF TEXT As introduced. An Act concerning reporting by the Cannabis Regulatory Commission and supplementing Title 24 of the Revised Statutes. Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey: 1. The Cannabis Regulatory Commission shall annually report the number of applications submitted and number of licenses or permits granted to persons who are a minority, as defined in section 2 of P.L.1986, c.195 (C.52:27H-21.18), Veterans, and women for the following: a. standard medical cannabis alternative treatment center (ATC) permits issued pursuant to section 7 of P.L.2009, c.307 (C.24:6I-7); b. conditional or microbusiness medical cannabis ATC permits issued pursuant to subsection d. or subsection e. of section 11 of P.L.2019, c.153 (C.24:6I-7.1); c. clinical registrant permits issued pursuant to section 13 of P.L.2019, c.153 (C.24:6I-7.3); d. standard adult use cannabis licenses issued pursuant to section 18 of P.L.2021, c.16 (C.24:6I-35); e. conditional or microbusiness adult use cannabis licenses issued pursuant to paragraph (2) of subsection b. or subsection f. of section 19 of P.L.2021, c.16 (C.24:6I-36). 2. This act shall take effect immediately. STATEMENT This bill requires the Cannabis Regulatory Commission (CRC) to annually report the number of applications submitted by and number of licenses or permits granted to persons who are minorities, Veterans, and women for standard medical cannabis alternative treatment center (ATC) permits; conditional or microbusiness medical cannabis ATC permits; clinical registrant permits; standard adult use cannabis licenses; and conditional or microbusiness adult use cannabis licenses. The CRC issues the licenses and permits for medical cannabis and adult use cannabis in NJ. Pursuant to section 2 of P.L.1986, c.195 (C.52:27H-21.18), "minority" means a person who is Black, Hispanic, Asian-American, or American Indian or Alaskan native.
