ASSEMBLY HEALTH COMMITTEE STATEMENT TO ASSEMBLY, No. 4327 with committee amendments STATE OF NEW JERSEY DATED: JUNE 17, 2024 The Assembly Health Committee reports favorably and with committee amendments Assembly Bill No. 4327. As amended, this bill revises the statutory definition of “elevated blood lead level.” Under current law, “elevated blood lead level” is defined to mean a level of lead in the bloodstream that equals or exceeds five micrograms per deciliter. This bill revises the definition of “elevated blood lead level” to mean a level of lead in the bloodstream that equals or exceeds the amount identified in the most recent recommendations from the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). COMMITTEE AMENDMENTS: The committee amendments revise the definition of “elevated blood lead level” to mean a level of lead in the bloodstream that equals or exceeds the amount identified in the most recent recommendations from the CDC.
