SENATE STATE GOVERNMENT, WAGERING, TOURISM & HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMITTEE STATEMENT TO SENATE, No. 2810 STATE OF NEW JERSEY DATED: MARCH 18, 2024 The Senate State Government, Wagering, Tourism & Historic Preservation Committee reports favorably Senate Bill No. 2810. This bill changes the membership requirements for the board of trustees of the State Police Retirement System (SPRS). Under the bill, two members appointed by the Governor will no longer be required to be private citizens who are neither an active nor retired member of the system. The SPRS board of trustees currently consists of two active or retired members of SPRS, two private citizens appointed by the Governor, and the State Treasurer. The board of trustees is responsible for the operations of the SPRS in accordance with current law and administrative regulations.
