SYNOPSIS

     Requires pharmacies to provide certain information regarding insulin manufacturer assistance programs. 

 

CURRENT VERSION OF TEXT 

     As reported by the Senate Commerce Committee on February 10, 2025, with amendments.

   

 An Act concerning insulin manufacturer assistance programs and supplementing P.L.2003, c.280 (C.45:14-40 et seq.).        Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:        1.    a.  A pharmacy practice site shall:      (1)   display 1, in a conspicuous manner on the website of the pharmacy,1 a notice concerning insulin manufacturer assistance programs, to be created by the Department of 1[Banking and Insurance, at all points of sale] Health1; and      (2)   1at the individual's request,1 provide a pamphlet concerning insulin manufacturer assistance programs, to be created by the department, to an individual purchasing a prescription for insulin and any individual requesting a pamphlet.      b.    An insulin manufacturer offering an assistance program may inform the department of its intention to be included in the notices and pamphlets.      c.     The department shall adopt rules and regulations pursuant to the "Administrative Procedure Act," P.L.1968, c.410 (C.52:14B-1 et seq.), to effectuate the purposes of this act.        2.    This act shall take effect on the first day of the 1[sixth] twelfth1 month next following the date of enactment, except that the Commissioner of 1[Banking and Insurance] Health1 may take any anticipatory administrative action in advance as shall be necessary for the implementation of this act.
