Judiciary to conduct an interim study concerning

SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION—Directing the Joint 
Interim Standing Committee on the Judiciary to conduct 
an interim study concerning certain policies and 
procedures applicable to victims of human trafficking. 
 RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, THE 1 
ASSEMBLY CONCURRING, That the Joint Interim Standing 2 
Committee on the Judiciary is hereby directed to conduct an interim 3 
study during the 2023-2024 legislative interim; and be it further 4 
 RESOLVED, That the study must include, without limitation, an 5 
examination of: 6 
 1.  Various approaches used by this State to protect the rights of 7 
victims of human trafficking before and during criminal 8 
proceedings, including, without limitation, the protections available 9 
to victims of human trafficking who cooperate in the investigation 10 
or prosecution of human trafficking or testify at the criminal trial of 11 
a person charged with committing human trafficking; 12 
 2.  Policies and procedures of local law enforcement agencies 13 
relating to the identification of and interaction with victims of 14 
human trafficking; 15 
 3.  The ability of victims of human trafficking who are in the 16 
criminal justice system to access and receive supportive services; 17 
and 18 
 4.  Any other matters or topics that, in the determination of the 19 
Committee, affect victims of human trafficking in this State; and be 20 
it further  21

 RESOLVED, That any recommended legislation proposed by the 1 
Committee must be approved by a majority of the members of the 2 
Senate and a majority of the members of the Assembly appointed to 3 
the Committee; and be it further 4 
 RESOLVED, That the Committee, pursuant to subsection 4 of 5 
NRS 218E.330, shall submit a report of the study and any 6 
recommendations for legislation to the Director of the Legislative 7 
Counsel Bureau for transmittal to the 83rd Session of the Nevada 8 
Legislature; and be it further 9 
 RESOLVED, That this resolution becomes effective upon 10 
adoption. 11
