SUMMARY—Expresses appreciation to the staff of the Senate for
their service during the 82nd Session of the Nevada
Legislature. (BDR R-1232)

SENATE RESOLUTION—Expressing appreciation to the staff of
the Senate for their service during the 82nd Session of the
Nevada Legislature.
WHEREAS, Each legislative session the Senate elects an officer 1
to serve as the Parliamentarian and Chief Administrative Officer of 2
the Senate; and 3
WHEREAS, The Senate of the 82nd Session of the Nevada 4
Legislature elected Brendan Bucy to serve as Secretary of the 5
Senate for the first time; and 6
WHEREAS, The Secretary of the Senate is responsible for 7
employing all of the staff of the Senate, including the Sergeants at 8
Arms, Front Desk Clerks, Administrative Services Staff, Leadership 9
Officers, Legislative Assistants, Committee Managers, Committee 10
Secretaries and Proofreaders; and 11
WHEREAS, Many of the dedicated members of the staff of the 12
Senate return to work each legislative session, some of whom have 13
retired from other governmental service, bringing a vast amount of 14
knowledge and experience, while others bring talent and expertise 15
from a myriad of diverse backgrounds; and 16
WHEREAS, Throughout the legislative session, the Secretary and 17
staff of the Senate meticulously maintained a thorough and accurate 18
record of all of the proceedings of the Senate and its Committees 19
and diligently ensured that all of the needs of the members of the 20
Senate were met; and 21
WHEREAS, The talented staff who worked for the Senate during 22
the 82nd Session of the Nevada Legislature carried out their 23
responsibilities with ingenuity, enthusiasm and resourcefulness; and 24

WHEREAS, The exemplary service of the staff of the Senate, 1
their professional attitudes, selfless commitment to excellence and 2
admirable efficiency enabled the Senate to complete a daunting 3
quantity of work within the rigorous scheduling deadlines of the 4
120-day legislative session; now, therefore, be it 5
RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, That the 6
members of the Senate do hereby express their sincere appreciation 7
to the Secretary of the Senate and all of the outstanding members of 8
the staff of the Senate and commend their dedication, cooperation, 9
excellent work and willingness to serve the State; and be it further 10
RESOLVED, That the Secretary of the Senate prepare and 11
transmit a copy of this resolution to each member of the staff of the 12
Senate; and be it further 13
RESOLVED, That this resolution becomes effective upon 14
adoption. 15
