SUMMARY—Revises provisions relating to the designation of

AN ACT relating to transportation; designating State Route 163 as
the Colorado River Highway; designating the bridge
connecting State Route 163 with Bullhead City, Arizona,
as the Donald J. Laughlin Memorial Bridge; and
providing other matters properly relating thereto.
Legislative Counsel’s Digest:
Existing law provides designations for certain highways in this State. (NRS 1
408.303, 408.307; Chapter 71, Statutes of Nevada 1987, at page 136) This bill 2
designates: (1) State Route 163 as the Colorado River Highway; and (2) the bridge 3
connecting State Route 163 with Bullhead City, Arizona, as the Donald J. Laughlin 4
Memorial Bridge. This bill also requires the Director of the Department of 5
Transportation to place suitable markers along the highway and bridge in locations 6
where the Director deems appropriate. 7
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN
SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Chapter 408 of NRS is hereby amended by adding 1
thereto the provisions set forth as sections 2 and 3 of this act. 2
Sec. 2. 1. State Route 163, as now or hereafter located in 3
this State, is designated as the Colorado River Highway. 4

2. The Director shall place suitable markers along State 1
Route 163 and may locate them at such points as the Director 2
deems appropriate. 3
Sec. 3. 1. The bridge which connects State Route 163 with 4
Bullhead City, Arizona, as now or hereafter located in this State, is 5
designated as the Donald J. Laughlin Memorial Bridge. 6
2. The Director shall place suitable markers along the bridge 7
and may locate them at such points as the Director deems 8
appropriate. 9
