AN ACT relating to jurisdiction; authorizing a court of this State to 
exercise general personal jurisdiction over certain 
business entities under certain circumstances; and 
providing other matters properly relating thereto. 
Legislative Counsel’s Digest: 
 Existing law authorizes a court of this State to exercise jurisdiction over a party 1 
to a civil action on any basis not inconsistent with the Nevada Constitution or 2 
United States Constitution. (NRS 14.065) Section 1 of this bill authorizes a court of 3 
this State to exercise general personal jurisdiction over certain business entities on 4 
the sole basis that the business entity: (1) is organized, registered or qualified to do 5 
business pursuant to the laws of this State; (2) expressly consents to the 6 
jurisdiction; or (3) has certain contact with the State. Section 2 of this bill provides 7 
that the amendatory provisions of section 1 apply to an action commenced on or 8 
after October 1, 2025.  9 
 
 
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN 
SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: 
 
 Section 1.  Chapter 14 of NRS is hereby amended by adding 1 
thereto a new section to read as follows: 2 
 1. A court of this State may exercise general personal 3 
jurisdiction over a corporation, miscellaneous organization 4 
described in chapter 81 of NRS, limited-liability company, limited-5 
liability partnership, limited partnership, limited-liability limited 6 
partnership, business trust or municipal corporation created and 7 
existing under the laws of this State, any other state, territory or 8 
foreign government or the Government of the United States on the 9

sole basis that the corporation, organization, company, 1 
partnership or trust: 2 
 (a) Is organized, registered or qualified to do business 3 
pursuant to the laws of this State;  4 
 (b) Expressly consents to the jurisdiction; or 5 
 (c) Has sufficient contact with the State such that the exercise 6 
of general personal jurisdiction does not offend traditional notions 7 
of fair play and substantial justice. 8 
 2. If a court of this State exercises jurisdiction over a 9 
corporation, organization, company, partnership or trust on the 10 
basis of subsection 1: 11 
 (a) Any cause of action may be asserted or maintained against 12 
the corporation, organization, company, partnership or trust, 13 
regardless of whether the cause of action arises from or is incident 14 
to an act described in subsection 1; and 15 
 (b) Discontinuance of an act described in subsection 1 does 16 
not affect jurisdiction with respect to any act, transaction or 17 
omission that occurs during the period in which the act was 18 
discontinued. 19 
 Sec. 2.  The amendatory provisions of section 1 of this act 20 
apply to an action commenced on or after October 1, 2025.  21
