AN ACT relating to gaming; providing immunity from civil liability for certain agencies, entities and persons relating to the pari-mutuel system of wagering; and providing other matters properly relating thereto. Legislative Counsel’s Digest: Existing law requires the Nevada Gaming Commission to administer provisions 1 governing the issuance of licenses and to perform various acts relating to the 2 regulation and control of the pari-mutuel system of wagering. (Chapter 464 of 3 NRS) This bill provides that the State of Nevada, the Nevada Gaming Commission, 4 the Nevada Gaming Control Board, the Off-Track Pari-Mutuel Wagering 5 Committee and certain other persons are immune from civil liability for any 6 decision or action taken in good faith and without malicious intent in carrying out 7 the provisions of law relating to the pari-mutuel system of wagering. 8 THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Chapter 464 of NRS is hereby amended by adding 1 thereto a new section to read as follows: 2 In addition to any other rights, privileges and immunities 3 recognized by law, the State of Nevada, the Nevada Gaming 4 Commission and any of its members, employees, attorneys and 5 other personnel, the Nevada Gaming Control Board and any of its 6 members, employees, attorneys and other personnel, and the Off-7 Track Pari-Mutuel Wagering Committee appointed pursuant to 8 – 2 – - *SB203* NRS 464.020 and any of its members, employees, attorneys and 1 other personnel are immune from civil liability for any decision or 2 action taken in good faith and without malicious intent in carrying 3 out the provisions of this chapter. 4 Sec. 2.
