AN ACT making appropriations to the University of Nevada, Las
Vegas, and the University of Nevada, Reno, for planning,
upgrades and construction for certain buildings; and
providing other matters properly relating thereto.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN
SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. 1. There is hereby appropriated from the State 1
General Fund to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, the sum of 2
$6,200,000 for: 3
(a) The planning and design of a new building for the Lee 4
Business School; and 5
(b) Security, health and public safety upgrades to the facilities of 6
the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, campus. 7
2. Any remaining balance of the appropriation made by 8
subsection 1 must not be committed for expenditure after June 30, 9
2027, by the entity to which the appropriation is made or any entity 10
to which money from the appropriation is granted or otherwise 11
transferred in any manner, and any portion of the appropriated 12
money remaining must not be spent for any purpose after 13
September 17, 2027, by either the entity to which the money was 14
appropriated or the entity to which the money was subsequently 15

granted or transferred, and must be reverted to the State General 1
Fund on or before September 17, 2027. 2
Sec. 2. 1. There is hereby appropriated from the State 3
General Fund to the University of Nevada, Reno, the sum of 4
$6,200,000 for the construction of a life sciences building. 5
2. Any remaining balance of the appropriation made by 6
subsection 1 must not be committed for expenditure after June 30, 7
2029, by the entity to which the appropriation is made or any entity 8
to which money from the appropriation is granted or otherwise 9
transferred in any manner, and any portion of the appropriated 10
money remaining must not be spent for any purpose after 11
September 21, 2029, by either the entity to which the money was 12
appropriated or the entity to which the money was subsequently 13
granted or transferred, and must be reverted to the State General 14
Fund on or before September 21, 2029. 15
Sec. 3. This act becomes effective on July 1, 2025. 16
