Provides for the licensing and regulation of the profession of reflexology which is a protocol that is applied to specific reflex areas to stimulate the neural pathways linking body systems.
Establishes the empire state professional nursing scholarship program to provide financial support to applicants to enter or continue in a registered nurse educational program and who agree to deliver nursing care in a specialty, setting or designated region of New York state having a shortage of nurses or to teach nursing students; establishes grants for nursing education to establish or expand training programs for nurses and to increase the opportunities for nursing education at community based sites.
Expands the description of certain services which are not prohibited by statutes governing the practice of nursing, including direct support staff to nurses.
Requires the state university of New York and the city university of New York to examine and conduct a study on the availability of campus services, programs and resources for veteran students.
Allows for the education department to provide registration applications to licensees for each profession by means other than mail; requires the state education department to mail applications prior to the end date of such registration period.
Authorizes the state university of New York to lease a portion of the lands on the campus of SUNY Buffalo State University for the relocation and operation of the Leonardo da Vinci High School; relates to the computation of building aid for the renovation and equipping of the Leonardo da Vinci high school.
Relates to the content and procedure for certification by pharmacists of patients using medical cannabis; allows a pharmacist employed by a registered organization and responsible for supervising the dispensing of medical cannabis within a cannabis dispensing facility to recommend and certify patients upon consultation within such dispensing facility.
Directs the New York state higher education services corporation to conduct an audit of the excelsior scholarship program to determine the financial need and diversity of scholarship applicants and recipients; provides for the repeal of such provisions upon the expiration thereof.
